Meet Our Veterinary Assistants

  • ERICA ZAMASTIL, BS, AVA

Pets of all sizes were important parts of our family growing up in northwestern Wisconsin, and after working for more than a decade as a technician and microbiologist in the food safety industry, I decided to change careers and pursue my passion for pets. I enrolled in Animal Behavior College's online Veterinary Assistant program and completed my externship with Waterloo Veterinary Care in the fall of 2019.  I am incredibly happy to be joining the team full-time; caring for pets and helping them live happy, healthy lives!  I earned a BS in Bacteriology from UW-Madison in 2003 and became an ABC Certified Veterinary Assistant in December 2019.

  • VICKY DOLFIN

'Caring for animals has been a joy of mine since I was little.  My interest and love for animals has only grown through the years.  I'm excited to be a part of the Waterloo Veterinary Care team and establishing new relationships with clients and their pets.'  Vicky adds her customer care talents, veterinary experience and experience with her own pets to our skilled team.

  • SARAH WILLIAMS

I grew up on a small hobby farm in East Troy, WI and was a very active member of our local 4-H club until heading off to UW-River Falls and later on UW-Whitewater. I’m a farm girl at heart and spent a lot of time working with horses and competing in shows both locally and nationally my whole life. I’m a passionate animal lover of all critters big and small. Over the last several years, I spent my time honing my artistic skills by drawing pet portraits and memorial pieces for clients all over the world. I thoroughly look forward to learning and growing alongside such an amazing and knowledgeable team.

  • DEEANA LIRA

Growing up, animals have always been present in my life. I always wanted what was best for them and as I got older I grew more knowledgeable about their health and nourishment, which peaked my interest in Veterinary Medicine. I am extremely excited to form new relationships with clients and their pets as a member of the Waterloo Veterinary Care team!

  • GALEN COTTING

I grew up right here in Waterloo, Wisconsin and have always had a soft spot for animals, whether they be cute kittens or regal raptors. After getting my Bachelor's degree in wildlife ecology and biology from UW-Madison in 2019, I worked as a wildlife rehabilitator during the COVID-19 pandemic. I saw all manner of crazy cases, and my experience made me realize I wanted to go into veterinary medicine as a career! I am very excited to help care for all our clients’ pets and I look forward to doing everything I can for them. I am currently attending Veterinary School at the University of Wisconsin Madison.
